Why this site exists

This trade is sold on worry, and the distance between what a house needs and what gets quoted for it is routinely several thousand dollars. A homeowner looking up at stained joists has no way to judge whether the number in front of them is fair, which is exactly the position the sales process depends on.

So this site does two things. It sets out what each option actually is and roughly what it costs, in plain language and with the cheap answers included rather than buried. Every job on this site is carried out by a licensed Tennessee contractor. We are not the crew in the truck, and we will tell you who is coming before anyone is scheduled. If you want to check a license yourself, the Tennessee Board for Licensing Contractors is the register.
